The first Chromebook by Samsung has getting a overwhelming success. The limited quantities of Samsung's Chromebook running Google's Chrome OS went on sale a full two weeks ahead of the official launch they quickly sold out. Now we can easily determine the sell figures when it officially get released.
The Chrome Team sent out emails to select users with a link to the Gilt Groupe, an online retailer that offers instant access to top designer labels at big discounts. Gilt doesn't often deal with tech, but apparently worked out a deal to deliver a select number of trendy Chromebooks. The Chromebooks will be officially release on June 15, 2011.
You can still get through by registering here. Though stock Gilt had is now depleted, but you can add your name to the "Wait List" in case more units become available before the official release.
Though the total number of Samsung Chromebooks sold in this process was not to large but still it sound as a good experiment to see how much interest there was in the new OS. And the result is really very impressive which will very important for official release coming soon this month.
